TMNT - 7/10

-Single player

It's been a while since we have seen any turtle action, so long that people have been reminising about the good old days of running home from school to catch the next episode on TV. Ubisoft has snapped up the oportunity to cash in on the success of the movie with a wii game release.

Like most games these days you start with a easy tutorial level. With Master Splinter explaining the basic moves as you play along, which makes it realy easy to get started, you get this for all four charaters aswell as a narated story line in the backgroung most of which coincides with the movie. To tell you the truth i got more into this game afer i watched the movie.

There is nothing to ground breaking about this title, basically it is your typical 3D beat'em up, some stages you use one turtle at a time to complete the level with the others using a tag team effort. Tag team is quite fun, you either switch between turtles or partner up for extended jumps and more fearsome attacks. Once you have completed a level you are graded on speed, fighting and coins collected, if you score well you can unlock chalenge levels, mini games and other so called goodies.

The controlls are very easy to use although the main game doesn't take full advantage of the motion sensing controlls whith a shake from the wiimote for weapon attack and a shake from the nunchuck for a kick, the controlls get a bit more creative in the mini games.

Graphically there is nothing to complain about with crisp vibrant colours at a smooth frame rate it does give you that comic book come to life feel.
The sound isn't nothing to special, but good enough to get the job done, there's heaps of one liners from the turtles which at times can be a bit funny.

Long term value, lack of multiplayer and repetiveness is holding this title back from being a hit. If you are a turtle fan, loved the movie or like beat'em ups then this title might be what you are looking for but i recomend the try before you buy policy.

Nice review and I agree with your rating as well.

One suggestion I hope you don't mind me giving is that it would be easier to read with gaps in between your paragraphs.

Seriously though, thank you for a good job.

EDIT*
I think this is one of the best reviews I've seen on MyWii.com.au
