Wii-mote to the rescue - 10/10

The Wii-mote, shaped like a remote that you hold in your hand and point to the TV.

truthfully the first time i saw this was a concept design a year ago, and fell on the floor laughing about how stupid this idea was and how it would feel so strange...

But the closer the Wii came to launch the more i began to understand just how amazing this little device was. The main feature of the Wii and what caused it to get so much attention from the public. The first time i downloaded the Wii Sports trailer and saw it's potential, i gasped and showed everyone around me. This remote opened doors to video gaming the world has never seen on a large scale.

But the day i finally opened my wii, it seemed smaller than i thought it would be, It was very light for what it had inside it and seemed to fit almost perfectly and very comfortably in my hand. But it's what it can do that is so amazing, the wii-mote for starters has 6 buttons, a D-pad, a power and a Home button. This little amount of buttons was replaced by the motion sensing inside the wii remote, able to detect 6 dimensions of direction, capable of finding itself in 3D space, meaning it never confused itself.

It picks up infra-red light shot from a bar sitting above or below the TV, this helps the wii-mote find itself on the TV and allows you to point, which is so fun to do, it's so good it can even notice when it's upside down. The speaker built into the remote and let me tell you is bloody awesome for the size of the speaker which can also be changed to what volume you would like it. On top of that all! we have the fact that it is wireless, yes this device has a pretty damn good range, i'm not sure exactly but i would say maybe 30 metres.

How much is all of this you ask? well different from what store you get, but you can get them for anywhere around $70!!
Now for all that i have said above that is pretty cheap, considering that a wireless game cube controller these days costs around $60 at a retail store, this includes a speaker, motion sensing, and able to track itself on the TV.

Once again Nintendo has proven that it is the leader of the gaming industry, bringing more and more innovations to the market.
Nintendo has truly changed the way we think and play games.
This system offers so many new possibilities for gaming, with more and more being discovered every day.

I give this a 10/10 because it really whether you think it's good or not, it is still cheap for what you get with it.
This truly is the beginning of a new age in gaming.
