Like most "first batch" of consoles there are usually some issues that appear. As I'm sure most of you have realized the ventilation is pretty average especially when you're killing the Wii for hours (thank god it's not black!).
I ditched the stand fast because I'd much rather the air flow than it stand up and i've had no issues in Wii sports or Zelda.
Awesome thing though is that if the freeze faults are not failing hardware they should be able to fix some issues with firmware updates.

haha, yeah I felt dirty doing it...
Anyone that owns a PSTwo will know the issues it has with heat, and thermaltake introduced a fan for it so time will tell.

I played it 12 hours solid Saturday and had no crashes. Hasn't crashed yet, and I've used the photo channel, wii shop, messed with memory management and played only wiisports and wiiplay.

All this news of freezing and crashing is starting to concern me. You think it could be a software or hardware malfunction? Because I'd really hate to get news from Nintendo that these consoles are faulty and have to wait even longer to get a proper Wii

Sometimes when I put the CD in it makes a weird noise. And if I play it I get an error message telling me to eject the CD and turn the power off.

I think it is to do with putting a CD in when its in stand by mode.
