Personally you guys stress too much about WEP. WEP is quite satisfactory for the home user. Its actually not the easiest thing to hack WEP security. It takes a bit of a process. People listen too much to forums etc that say WEP is the devil. WEP is the devil to enterprise situations. Not to the home user.

And another point is unless you have an antenna on your roof your only source of serious attack could come from your next door neighbour. So if you know they are a hacker or suspect then maybe higher than WEP is a good option. Otherwise...stop stressing so much.

My main reason I want another way of doing WiFi so so that I can turn the WiFi on and off without having to log into my router and restart it.

My main issue is that I either want WPA protected WiFi or no WiFi. I am looking for an option that allows my DS(WEP only) to still be useable.

or get the Nintendo USB WiFi Connector, plug it into your PC that is hooked up to the router via ethernet, in which case you can leave the router's WiFi on WPA.
