Probably in your local one but not mine. The one I frequently visit are very serious when it comes to customer satisfaction. They're always helping newbies with painting, army lists, what to buy/what to avoid etc. Hell, if it wasn't for them saying "You can use any regular black paint to undercoat your models. You don't NEED to buy the store's spray" I would be forking out $20 for something I can get for $3 at Big W.

Why? It's their business, just as it's your business to listen to Limp Bizkit.

Warhammer is interesting, but not for me. It's not that it's too expensive (hardcore gaming is not much cheaper), but that you need to go outside to play it and have any fun. Outside has the sun.

I'm pretty dang cheap. When I wanted to play a little tabletop gaming I used paper figures. Print them on paper or cardstock, cut and fold them, put them in a slit foam base and game on.

I'm sure someone's made WH40K printable paper figures

No, I knew you were talking about Warhammer. I'm saying that calling them toys when people obviously put more weight in them than that is an over-generalisation.

Just like when people say that all games are the same, and all games are full of sex and violence, and that they make light of any subject they present, and that they're made for children, and what the heck are grown adults doing playing kids' entertainment?

And this is so, even though it's true that in the end they are, in fact, toys. Just like video games are toys.
