if you read the comments, backups do work on NTSC systems because Mario Party 8 is NTSC. The PAL version is not available yet. Some people may have been using the backups on PAL Wiis - hence the problems being reported. This is no different from what we have already seen with other games.

However, Nintendo has recently changed the Wii's mainboard by removing some solder points where the Wii key modchip connects to, making it impossible to hook it up.

Seriosly something big needs to be done and what better company to do a big thing and make a big impact like Nintendo.

I'm going out of my way to give money to my favourite game developer. I hardly see why this makes me spoilt. Nintendo has once again boxed themselves in with their own technology. First it was cartridges, then it was low-capacity Gamecube discs, and now it's limited online capability and region encoding. This forum would ban modchips entirely if the Wii was not region encoded.

Also, why are we lamenting the death of patience but not the death of the English written language? 'There' is position, 'their' is possessive.
