Rerun, we haven't disagreed for a while, but we are now.
It wouldn't be at all advantageous for nintendo to release a patch which bricks the wii.
I guarantee Nintendo will focus on a copyright system (like css and cppm that were designed for the DVD format).
There's been another one recently released, which has proved really tough for hackers to break, can't think of the name. But basically it scrambles the sectors of the dvd, so that the ripping programs either spit out errors when ripping, or completely miss the *.vob file which is scrambled, it's alot like the CSS system, only far more detailed in it's design.
So, Nintendo KNOW that bricking wii's won't create anymore profit for them (a person with a faulty wii, won't buy wii games, coz they ain't got a wii to play on). A person with a Wii (and Wiikey), who can't copy games (because of copyright protections on the disc), has one option....BUY THE GAMES!!!
Think about it, What's nintendo gonna do.
