Metroid Prime 1 - X-Ray Visor and Hands?

I'm sure you guys have heard about small graphical details being removed from Metroid Prime 1 in the new Trilogy set, and that one of those was the "removal" of being able to see Samus' hand in the arm cannon while using the X-Ray visor. Well I was just playing the original Metroid Prime 1 (GCN) and I don't see any hand in the arm cannon in the first place. Is my game messed up?

I think they're very subtle differences. You really wouldn't notice unless you had a split-screen comparison.
As for the hand cannon thing, I'm not sure, but I imagine it wouldn't be that clear to see outright.
