Problem with Mii Channel

Hi folks! I don't normally post topics but I need your help. Just recently everytime I turn on my wii i get the message, "Unable to load Mii channel data. Please access the Mii channel and check Mii channel data."

When i go into the Mii channel it says, "The save data is corrupted. Format save data?"

Is there a way of saving my Mii's or is there no way out. What is the cause of this problem? I hope someone will be able to help me. Thanks!

Nah my wii is not modded. How long is the wii under warranty? I bought it in Dec. 2006.

EDIT: Looks like i'm going to have to re-format. That means all my Mii data has to be erased. Today is the death of Chimp, Santa and Yoda on MKW.

edit: or you can delete the channel & re-download it? then you won't loose your address book & everything else in your wii! (ie) all the pics i've sent you!

Thanks cmpa But i can't it wont even let me access the channel. I click on it and straight away the message comes up. I'm really annoyed! Will this format erase all my vc games? I had close to 4000 mii in my parade as well.

EDIT: Ok so just go into the wii memory and delete the mii channel?

Just thought I'd chip in; since there's no way for you to download the Mii Channel since it's not on the Wii Shop, the only thing you can try to delete is the save data. It won't get rid of the channel, so if it's the channel which is corrupted, you'll need to re-format, but if it's a save corruption you'll be right.

Wii Options, Data Management, Saves, Mii Channel, Delete.

Ok i'm really stuck now as i went into the data management and looked in the saved data and there is no mii channel at all in there. Went into the Wii channels menu and still no mii channel. Seems like it has been completely erased. I haven't touched it though. What would cause such a thing? Recently i've downloaded the, "Today and Tomorrow channel" but thats it.

Before i re-format should i save all my data on an sd card?

yes, but i think you wii number changes so all your old data might not work with your new wii number. you'll loose everyone in your address book. it'll be like a new wii.....

Ok, i don't really care much about save game data anyway. Sorry if these questions seem stupid but if i re-format, as thats the only thing it wants me to do. Will i have to re download all my purchased vc games?
