MyWii Feature Punch-Out

Sorry, I'm sure these threads pop up a lot but I couldn't find any that helped.
My Wii was fine a few days ago and I played it for a couple of hours then I went to turn it on that afternoon it wasn't working. I have had some problems with my Wii before and they pass with time strangely so I thought I would just leave it.
Anyway I tried again today and still nothing.
I press the on button and the little green light pops up all fine but I get nothing on my TV screen and the Wiimotes just flash their lights for a few seconds then stop. It also wont eject the disc. So does anyone know what's going on?
Any help is useful, thanks in advance.

Try resetting it by Unplugging from powerpoint and leaving for a few minutes then plug it back in and try switching it on

I made sure they are all plugged in firmly but no I have not tried it on another TV.
Thanks for the suggestion, I will try it when I get the chance. I have a feeling the problem lies with the Wii itself though

If your AV cables are fine, and pulling out the power cord/putting it back in does not fix anything, please tell me: do you have homebrew?

No I don't use any of those modchips and homebrew thingys.

Is your TV set to the correct channel, check your other AV channel (I'm guessing you would have 2 of them anyway) and see if it's come up on it

Alright then.

Don't bother with trying another television, if the Wii won't eject discs, the problem is with the Wii and the output cables/television have nothing to do with that.

Make sure all cables in the back of the wii are plugged in fine. Also, try taking out any gamecube controls//memory cards from the top of the wii and try again.

If all this fails, ring Nintendo, there's nothing we can do to help -- your wii is stuffed.

When you turn on the Wii, wait for a while for the disc to load up. Then you can eject it.

I have that problem. It takes a few minutes sometimes to load the disc. You can't eject the disc when anything hasn't loaded up. So you have to wait.

I had this problem since i got my Wii chipped around last year. I put the disc in and at a random time it loads up. It's the same when ending the game. When you go to the home screen you have to wait for the disc to load again then eject it to put it away.

Tried the other channel, nothing. Tried another TV, nothing. But it is an older TV and it made a popping noise when I switched the Wii off.

Will they help me out even though it is no longer under warranty (I have had it since release)

Okay, tech time!

Here's how you reset the Wii:

1. A soft reset: Simply press and hold down the reset button for two seconds

2. A hard reset. I had to do a bit of research for this one. I found that the Wii has no hard reset facility that can be performed via buttons, but if you unplug it and leave it unplugged for 5 minutes it resets itself and everything should be restored to normal.

EDIT: Unplugging for five minutes didn't do anything and neither did waiting for the disc to load.
It would seem I have a serious problem on my hands.

You need to ring your country's Nintendo. They SHOULD be able to help you. I know over here if you did nothing to cause the fault at all, even if the warranty is out, you can send them your Wii and they'll repair it for nothing bu P&H.

I think you should have bolded SHOULD. it's a decision of wether or not nintendo can be bothered helping. We called up for new AC disk with character transfer via DS and they are hopeless...
