@ foetoid, what about bioshock & mass effect?
edit: I don't know why there is always the ps3/360 (graphics & powerful cpu/gpu) vs wii (motion sensing controls) arguments, both are good... and if you don't agree with that then you going to have trouble accepting the next generation of consoles which will integrate next-gen hardware with updated motion sensing controls.
Just look at zelda ocarina of time, considered one of the best games of all time, and it was the new technology in the nintendo 64 that drove this revolution in gaming (2d to 3d). Granted, going to the ps3/360 from xbox/ps2 is probably not as big a leap - and leads to more evolutionary steps in gaming rather than revolutionary steps, but there are still some amazing games that have be born out of this new hardware of the 360/ps3, bioshock immdediately springs to mind, and I'm sure MGS4, and GT5 will be other standouts of this generation.
That said, the wii with the new motion sensing controls also enhances games, but I would say that the best wii games provide evolutionary increments rather than revolutionary steps in gameplay. The best example of this in my mind is RE4 wii, which is easily in the top 3 wii games despite it being a last generation game. The wii controls greatly enhances the gamplay of RE4 but in no way is it revolutionary.
the point of this rant was to suggest that the hardware from the 360/ps3 side and the motion sensing controls from the wii, are both steps in the right directi
