News \ Rumor: Mario Kart Wii Disc Read Errors? The Germans Say Yes!

While the game has only recently shipped, reports are coming in from Germany that Mario Kart Wii may be having disc read issues on mass. If you recall the on going fiasco with Brawl's disc issues, this was blamed on dual layer disc media. But various source can confirm that Mario Kart Wii is indeed a single layer game.

None of this has been confirmed outside of the original source yet so don't start running around flailing your arms in panic just yet, but keep it in mind.

What do think it is? Faulty discs? Faulty lasers? German news teams jumping the gun over nothing? Let us know!

Hmm. I don't think the rumours are true. We'll see in the next couple of weeks when the game is released here and America. There's no real reason the Wii should read the disc, unless they had a whole batch of discs that were faulty when they manufactured the game onto them lol.

That being said, wasn't part of the brawl repair service that they were actually replacing the laser units? Maybe that's got something to do with it
