unleashing the Star Wars Force on Wii

September 19, 2007 - Star Wars won't only be appearing on Wii in LEGO form. Next year The Force Unleashed will also be hitting Wii, LucasArts has revealed, and the team behind the title is none other than Australia's most successful independent developer, Krome Studios.

Set between the events of Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Episode IV A New Hope, the game will see players wield the Wii Remote as if it were a Lightsaber while grasping the Nunchuk to unleash Force powers. An exclusive duel mode will also be included in this Wii version, allowing players to compete head-to-head with friends.

"Wii is a great platform for The Force Unleashed, because the console's motion-oriented controllers really bring the game to life," said Jim Ward, the president of LucasArts. "We've worked hard to make the Wii version of the game unique in order to truly let you unleash the Force."

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is also destined to arrive on the Nintendo DS, PlayStation 2, PS3, PSP and Xbox 360 by April next year. Krome is also handling development of the PS2 and PSP versions, while n-Space is handling the DS game, and LucasArts the Xbox 360 and PS3 ones.
