Mario Party 8 Description:

75 new mini-games
In Mario Party 8 the Star Carnival rolls into town, and Ballyhoo, (the main host and possibly the owner of the Star Carnival) along with Big Top, Ballyhoo's talking top hat, challenges everyone to the "Star Battle" which the winner is crowned Superstar and wins a year's worth of candy with a relic called the Star Rod. Bowser comes along to steal the Star Rod, and it is up to the player to save the Star Carnival.

I have this game and I must say I prefer the previous versions mainly due to the controller. The minigames can sometimes get annoying or frustrating with the remote and I must say the gamecube controller allowed quite a lot of minigame variety. The wii remote does allow for some interesting new minigames and they are all still quite fun. Single player isn't that great, but it's definitely a good game when there's a few people playing.

According to local retailers both online and offline, Mario Party 8 has been delayed 2 weeks in Australia from the 5th of July back to the 17th. Nintendo Australia’s site still states the game as the 5th but retailers are often told of delays (or changes to dates) well in advance of the media. Also Nintendo normally doesn’t set a games release date unless it’s concrete so perhaps some last minute changes or translation issues have arisen. We’ll seek a comment from Nintendo, but it seems you Mario Party fans will just have to wait a little bit longer.

What would of been a great idea for MP8 would of been to have new mini games and some old ones from the other titles. Like Mario Party 5 i think it was, how you were in a ally with a chain chomp behind you and u had to shine the light on him to stop. Would be nice to see some old mini games re-done for the Wii.
