How do the cheap ones compare with expensive ones? what are you using?

The ones I normally use are the LG or TDK printable discs, they seem to do a good job. Lately though I have been using the Dick Smith brand printable discs because I can't seem to find any of the above brands in printable anymore and surprisingly they are quite good, haven't had any troubles. The Dick Smith ones are cheap and I haven't noticed any difference.

Use high quality media. Do not use RITEK, PRINCO, LASER, MR DATA et al. Use Verbatim, Mitsubishi Chemical, Taiyo Yuden, TDK, Sony et al. The MID coded associated with these discs can be obtained using DVDInfoPro or ImgBurn easily.

How true is this rumour? I heard somewhere that the disks work better if it is DVD+...hmm...

but then again the next lot i buy i will try the - ones...

DVD+r can make the laser work harder. Get DVD-r and burn no faster than 4x (2x is even better). I also only use printable discs and not silver top ones.

You'd notice that with some bad quality media, they work alright at first but after awhile they'll stop working.

Is there really a diff b/w burning speeds on quality...? I usually burn my ones on my laptop which only goes up to 6x fastest and about 4x avg...so i should be ok i guess

I dont know what type of discs nintendo use. Probably top quality ones like verbatim, sony or maybe even nintendo's own special dvd's
