As a rule of thumb with consoles, it's only the games that will not work on consoles from other regions. Accessories will always work on any region console. Except for the S-Video game for the SNES/Gamecube. That one was odd.

Not too sure at the moment. My site that tells me what games are compatible don't have Wii Fit listed yet. Maybe tomorrow...

BTW, Wii Fit costs around HK$800 which is about $125 here. I really want this and I have about 2 months to decide whether I will get one in HK.

Hubby thinks I am more excited than our boys...the new Wii is the Xmas present for them. I was lucky enough to get the bundle (with Wii sport and Shrek)at Myer 2 days ago. Then I got 2 Guitar Hero 3 bundles and the Wii Play bundle from EB yesterday. So I am pretty happy and I am sure our boys will be thrilled.

Hang on... Japan is PAL and Europe is PAL, so it should work?
Isnt the Compatebility List is for games that have been converted from NTSC to PAL unsing the Syndicate RegionFrii software?

I will let you know when it arrives....

Japan is NTSC.

RegionFrii is quite dodgey like that really. I can't see it working, good luck with it though.

The compat list does all sides....

"i did the stupidest thing, first updated my PAL wii to USA firmware with Mario Galaxy then updated with Wii Fit to Jap firmware and then back to Pal firmware with Mario Galaxy. My Wii remains semi-bricked, can't access the Wii settings. I also bought a Jap Wii Fit package with the balance board and tried to play it on my machine. Even the board doesn't sync with my machine. I bought it as a present for my other half. The only reassurance is that the console still play games. Any advice with fixing this problem will be much appreciated. Also I have got another (2+2) 4 additional news and weather channels."

Also don't let your chipped console update with the wrong region firmware (which often comes with downloaded/backup games). I didn't know that when I got mine chipped.

@ everyone else, some ntsc games play on chipped wii's. i haven't tried it myself, but gonna with ssbb. just check on the internet first. but when you do, ALWAYS perform a system update before playing the game for a first time.
