Now, now, children (your comments and poor spelling are a dead-giveaway here) - a long time ago (before CD players and Game & Watch consoles were invented) the alluded-to movie franchise did not exist and the name belonged to a TV-series dating back to the Sixties.
Of course our commercial TV stations were still running re-runs of shows like these in the Eighties because the dross known as 'reality-TV' was yet to be invented.(Edit:well... maybe Japan had reality TV back then )
Yes, the title of the game is a play on name the TV show
And yes, for it's time, it rocked and it's one of the few games I've ever played that I've 'clocked' - on the Commodore 64 that is... you should check out the link gokhan has posted...

There was talk that this would be coming out through WiiWare aswell, so maybe they're waiting until that is ready? Having a Dec 31 release date is just another way of saying that this game has no confirmed date for release yet, but expect it sometime this year, if you're lucky.
