AMD Athlon 4400+ Dual-Core
2 gig of 800mhz DDR2 RAM
2x 160gig HDD
MSI-Neo Motherboard
Pioneer DVD Burner
Geforce 8600gt 512mb
Wicked lit-up case with 550w PSU

All for the grand total of $950....i did of course build it myself, plus i already had the OS, Monitor and Keyboard/Mouse, but that is an amazing price for a PC that will run any current game maxed out no worries and will run future games well for another 2-3 years no worries. Then it's a simple cpu/graphics card upgrade to give me another 2-3 years.

Lol you have to be kidding. Are you playing on a 17" monitor or something, as your hardware is already outdated, let alone running newer games than crysis with all settings maxed for the next few years.

The 8800GT does look promising on paper, but will also be interesting to see how the new 8800GTS performs next month.


Im personally not going to upgrade my 8800gts until the new GTX series comes out next year.

Check out whirlpool, someone posted a link to benchmarks.
It's right up there with the GTX. Incredible.

Oh, so then you'd know that it takes something like an hour to generate each individual frame of a well-rendered CGI movie.

Either way, it's Core 2 Duo and 8800 Ultra time for Desi. Thanks for reminding me about this.

No i said it would run games WELL in the next 2-3 years. I would expect my current rig to run a game made 2 years from now quite well (not maxed out). An i am on a 19" widescreen if your interested.

Though as expected had pretty high graphical requirements.

I couldn't get it to load at 1900x1200, with AA maxed & all setting maxed with a 8800GTS. At this reso with settings on medium & AA off, the game runs flawlessly.

Though atm im running it at 1680x1050 with settings maxed and AA off, and it looks fantastic, though FR could def be improved. Eitherway, its still very playable.


Now im freaking out about even attempting to run it @ 2560x1600 @ any decent settings when my new monitor arrives tomorrow.
