I'm still really enjoying it.
Per most of the reviews out there it's a little more linear than pervious sims games, as you are given specific tasks to complete.
I personally love the more anime/cartoonish look to the characters and settings.
As to if it's a good game to get, I think I would recommend it if 1) you like The Sims or similar sim games and 2)you like the creating part of other sims games.
In The Sims I've always preferred the creating aspect of the game over the social interactions. So for me My Sims is a more ideal version of The Sims. And is a game I see a lot of re-play value in, since you have control over who moves into the town.
I did find it hard to find in places that had it under the rrp of 99.95 and a lot of places had sold out.
