Hi all,
I've just opened up my new website, dedicated to Australian console gaming, anime, collectible card games, desktop role play etc etc. There are sections for almost everything in the related fields and anything lacking we're willing to add (given that it's on topic)!
It's not just a community and news site, as it grows I will be organise events and competitions as well, however as the site is only just under 2 days old we're still very small with user base.
If you love gaming, anime, cards etc. Head over to www.playtopia.com.au and sign up, get the forums active, and help re-build the gaming community. We're always looking for contributors in any section too, you can write reviews, guides, information, post news or mod forums.
Before anyone gets angry at me, I am NOT out to steal anyone away from this site! MyWii.com.au is a fantastic website and community for the Wii! I'm simply hoping some of you will like to visit my site as well, as it's based on a large range of things fitting into unique niche's that are hard to find communities for these days.

I did all the content currently on there, and yeah it takes a lot of time but I love it 
My hope is to get a good community supporting it and (x) amount of those people will contribute stuff Being largely focussed on retro gaming I hope to see a lot of great reviews of old school games

your site is ok it has good stability but looks emty i'd try a more colourful logo and more compex style sheet

the cms it's based off is a bit complex for theme's tooth, however there is a plan in place for a graphical re-design a little further down the track!
Renesis-c: reviews are going to be a big part of the website I feel, as is anime. As mentioned above, I do everything I can in my spare time, and would love to see a community grow and contribute too. Review possibilities are endless, as I really want reviews on all the old retro games etc.
Over time there will be competitions held as well, and many of them based on retro games, we're not about the lastest and greatest stuff, but it's included too

Nice site. I agree with tooth that you should make it a bit more colourful but apart from that i love it cuz all the stuff is on 1 website.

Cheers dude Yeah I want this site to be the hub of niche-based gaming. Things like warhammer and magic the gathering have little or no communities, and the guys who are into it play in the same circle of friends all the time. My site provides them with a "home" on the net to meet and chat to other's into the lesser known games!

ta syfox, as i said a redesign is in planning. the issue with changing the layout is that there is so much information, it's all gotta be grouped. However down the track the font and size etc will be altered, and it will become much more colourful. It all takes time tho

While we're criticising, Vision page needs serious spell checking. Other news posts too.
I agree that the site needs to look prettier, but I don't agree with it needing more colours. I made my site out of white, black and two shades of brown.

ok, hold up a second... The site was launched for content and to start building a community, the design cant just be manipulated that easily due to the complex cms running the whole site.
I've said a re-design is happening, but its not like drawing a picture, there is hours and hours or coding in making a new site theme.
Anyways, thanks all who like it and have signed up, no site launches at 100% and mine is no exception, but that doesn't mean it will fade and disappear either

I understand that but keep in mind its your fult for picking that CMS.

I picked the CMS for its versatility and easy of use. I've spent the last hour looking at theme code and there's a very good chance a new theme will be applied in the next 24 hours.
Again, it wont be the final design (if there is such a thing for a website), but it will look a damn lot better than the current theme. Hopefully you'll give it a chance and come join our community trinest It's actually your comments that have made me move so fast on it.
