Wii Hardware \ USB Ethernet Adapter

Can we use any adapter? Or do we have to use a nintendo one? I saw something about a "dongle" that was released for the DS, is this usable? No rush for me anyhow, I'm not using the shop or anything until i finish zelda, but i would like to get my updates if i need them and what not...

EDIT: thegame10: Why would a dongle be safe, its wireless thus others can get onto your connection with effort. Ethernet is significantly safer then wireless, and that comes with personal experience.

I don't mean in that sense thegame10. As with any wireless connection, other people are able to access it without being that close due to the fact that IT IS wireless. Its quite common, I could probably hook up a WiFi dongle, and be able to connect to someones Wireless Router nearby, and use their internet. Its the same visa versa.

But its highly likely anyone will 'hack' your wireless connection. For me personally I will probably get ethernet and a WiFi dongle, so I can change depending on the situation.

im gunna get the USB Ethernet Adapter.. ive got wireless, all fully setup with mac address filtering, port forwarding, QoS, WPA-PSK and all that jazz, but wireless is so buggy! cables are the way to go, fast and never drop out!! just try hooking up an xb360 to media centre over wireless and u will know what i mean!
