Wii Hardware \ Im lost

This might not help much but have you tried to move closer to the router, it may not detect it becasue it could posibly be far away.

haha you have the EXACT same setup as me! aswell as having a netgear router! for me, i need a WEP code, its a looooooooooooong code lol

and usually if you type in 192.168.0.1 it will take you to the settings for your router

i got connected fine, but when i connected it detected that it was a secure connection and for me to enter the code

so if you are getting an error before that, the code may not be the problem

I have a netgear wifi router too. To get it the wii to work with it I had to manually add the MAC address of the wii to the access control list of the netgear, and also turn WPA-PSK on.

There's instructions in your manual on how to find out your wii's MAC address.
