hey peeps, sorry about adding a non nintendo related thread, but i need some help with world of warcraft (i've seen a lot of WoW fans on this site so i had to

). my mate just bought it yesterday, i had a go and it was awesome! now he gave me his discs to install cuz there is 2 guest serial numbers in the box. now my question is - if i set up the guest account, can i transfer my guest character/stats to the official account when i sign it up? and also do i have to buy the cd's or can i use my mates discs if i need to reinstall (i understand you dont need the cd's to run the game)? sorry about the noob questions, but i couldn't find any forums on the net that i could trust.

Yeah you'll transfer it right to the account, not sure about the discs although I can tell you now you'll need to but the Burning Crusade expansion. Anyway, make a character on the Thaurissan PvP server and DSreaper, Nbo, Elgoonties, Elraro and I can help you. Hope I helped a little!

now when my mate set it up he went to normal game mode, not PvP. can that be changed or once you've done it, youre stuck with it? if i remember correctly there is a character select screen, can you create different characters on different servers (not that you'd play them all cuz this game is freakin HUGE!)? the reason i ask is that i might get my mate to change over to the server you guys are on so there'll be some familiar faces...

1. yes you can use the same discs again to install the game on any computer.
2. once you choose a realm type (PvE, PvP, RP, RPPvP) and create a character on that realm, the realm type you chose is stuck.
3. as you've just started, you don't really need to get Burning Crusade just yet, unless you want to play as one of the two new races, or have the new profession. BC is mainly for later levels, 60+
4. I think there is a limit of 10 characters per server, not sure. You can pretty much create as many as you like!
5. you can create horde and alliance characters on a PvE realm, but only one faction type on a PvP realm.

Yep everyone can see you, you just can't access the new content. eg, i got on a boat and tried to get to a new continent, but it just warped me back to where i came from haha

Also i suggest a Oceanic server. There are always plenty of people on and lowbies as well. You might get a bit of a que but it is never more than a few minutes.

Bah, Ganking and being ganked is half the fun. The feeling of having to look over your shoulder all the time is great.

Plus on a PVE server you find find yourself really frustrated when there is a someone from the other faction and there is nothing you can do to them, unless they flag.

And the fact that while you are lvling you need to contest mobs for quests not only against your own faction but the other as well.

Ryssia is 100% correct about BC, so you can wait if you like.
You can install off your mates CD but I thought (correct me if I'm wrong guys) that you need a unique serial key to create an account. Seeing your mates key is in use it won't work? anyone know if I'm wrong? I've never used a 10 day pass.

Like Rerun said most of us are on Thaurissan so we'd be happy to see you on!

On our server Horde population is higher than Ally so ganking is minimal and Ally PvP like 3 year olds, they either gank and run, attack when you're fighting something else or my favourite taunt you in a group until your mates show up then run lol (I'm banned now aren't I Ryssia?
