Wii Software \ Problem with Pirates of the Caribbean

Hi all.
My girlfriend just got Pirates of the Caribbean for the Wii, but put it in to load, and the first time it said that it was updating, but then the screen went black and said there was an error and to turn the Wii off.
Cant play Pirates, and it looks cool too.
Also have a 1Gig SD card in it, do you need to format them or something?
And also cant get broadband in my area for the software updates.
Any ideas?

Tried that, only the other times it didn't do the update thing, but the error message comes up saying to eject the disc and turn off the Wii.
Im wondering if it had something to do with an update on the game disc that it needed, is there any other way of updating the Wii without having a broadband connection?

Either you have a WiiKey and playing an Import, or you have a dud disc which is possible. Just go get a refund.

Sounds like the game's a dud get a refund or replace the game if all ur others work (the DVD is the problem then)

I think he expects to be able to at least start the game, the thread isnt about how good the game is, its about the game not loading.
