They only buy the rights to certain console exclusives. Most FF games are on PC, and FFXI is on 360. Most sources will state that because FFXIII is going to be a 10 yr long franchise, every single console/handheld is going to get the game in some form or another. With the pitiful Ps3 sales, releasing the game on that thing would mean massive losses for Square. It is smart business sense to port all future FF games.

this also leads me onto another thought.. if there going to be bringing out FF for the Wii, then this could also mean we are one step closer to gettin Kingodm Hearts for the Wii! whether the characters are still Disney, or are infact Nintendo is another story, but it opens up the doors for a higher possibility for Kingdom Hearts on the Wii, alongside FF
