I see a lot of people on here saying 'yay i am killing time till Cooking Mama comes out'. I just want to know, honestly, are you people being sarcastic? It's like a cooking simulation, which isnt as good as real cooking (the kitchen is a short walk people), and you don't get to taste the results. Are people actually looking forward to this or are they kidding. Plenty of other pwnt games coming out in the next 12 weeks.

I'd be interested in Cooking Mama when it came out. Its a sim game so if you like that genre, I dont see why you wouldnt enjoy this game?

Sure you can just go to the kitchen and cook, but then you'd have to find someone to help you finish all the food you're gonna cook, not to mention pay for all the expensive top quality ingredients you need to buy.

If you enjoy cooking and find it fun, Cooking Mama will let you have that enjoyment whenever, and for as long as you like. Real cooking restricts this (unless you work in a restaurant) to a maximum of 5 times per day, and you have to sit around during the boring "cook" times without the "here is one we prepared earlier" button.

I enjoy cooking a lot, in fact i am quite good at it. I do understand the potential appeal, but honestly, how much longetivity can be found in a cooking simulation? Most of the joy of cooking includes the aromas and flavours. Take that away and you might as well be cooking instant mashed potato.

I don't get why The Sims games are so popular either. Real life has much better graphics.

yeah gotta say im with Foetoid on this one Cooking mama has little appeal to me, perhaps competition wise it may prove fun as you race others to produce the food.

I think it's the same feeling for those who love to play shooting or FPS games. It is just a game, everything is simulated don't take it too seriously.

As long as it provides a challenge, thenw ho cares? Developers made the game to entertain and challenge players (like most SImulation games). Just look at Trauma Center - a surgery simulation game. You don't have to be a surgeon to play the game, nor do you need a flaming passion for cutting people open. It's one of the most difficult games I have played but packs a lot of hours of fun and entertainment.

coooking mama is a big demand in hk. And i've played the ds version and its actually a lot of fun. However although their are lots of different recipes, it may get boring after you've played it heaps cause you'll be doing the same actions over. But i would definately get this game on the wii when it comes out

I think Cooking Mama's appeal rests in its uniquue style of gameplay and incorporation of the wii remote. Personally i'm looking forward to this game, i think its fun and innovative and should make for some pretty cool multiplayer fun with my mates.

it's the same token for cooking shows though, people get enjoyment out of watching them, but it's still on the tv and you don't get to eat or smell it...

I personally think it's a waste of programming. It appears to be designed just to get people to do actions with the controllers.

What are they going to think of next?

Wii-Massage? use the controllers to massage a your Mii.

Wii-read a book? Use the controllers to turn the pages.

Wii-itch? Use the controllers to scratch your Mii's itches.

Wii-switch? Use your controllers to operate an old style phone switchboard.

Wii-toilet? Use your controller to wipe.....

Well you get the idea... As cool as the controllers are, I just don't feel that the quality of games coming out are going to utilise them in any decent manner except for pointless games such as cooking mama.

Well...you can't underestimate the Japanese. Take Warioware for example, Wiimote turns into everything! shaver, finger, broom, hand, steering wheel, etc.... I think that's why Wii is so outstanding in the market right now.

But hey, Wii-toilet is not a bad idea
