Wii Hardware \ My wii is on , My remote is connected , Where is my finger on the screen

Check if it turns on properly and see if there are any error messages. If it doesn't work restart the console.

Oh and you also need to point the Wii-mote at the screen - but I figure you know that bit already.

Did you tell the Wii (via configuration) whether your sensor bar is above or below the TV?

Hmm... From what I have found, the higher the sensitivity level, the further away your Sensor Bar can detect your Wiimote. Perhaps you are trying to use it from such a distance that your Sensor Bar is in a possition that has no broken path from the wiimote to the bar. Also, try changing the sensitivity once your Wiimote is detected to prevent this problem.

Hell, this may not be usefull, but you may get lucky and have a simple issue such as that...
