I remember being able to fill up for about $0.80c a litre.... and I'm only 19, so it wasn't that long ago! Gah.....

With oil becoming scarcer and global warming an enormous issue, taxing petrol is the responsible thing to do

The irresponsible thing is not to invest that tax into public transport and alternative fuels.

Actually when I was in Germany (think this was in Munich) in 2002 they were at 2 Euro a litre. I am sure I saw it right but I haven't been game enough to say anything as I could have not looked at the sign properly.

Talking about global warming anyway, it's great that Australia is having tons of rain after all the predictions last year were that we weren't going to see any more rain for a long time.
