Need some more information to help you out a bit more
is your internet working at all, and if so is it running at a lower speed than it should be, or is it off all together?

sometimes your phone line can have a fault and you need to report it to the company than runs the phone line thingo in your area. having a phone line fault doesn't mean your phone and net won't work, you might hear a fuzzy sound through the phone and internet can be at a lower speed than usual.

if that's not the problem ring your ISP and get them to help you enter settings for your router .. if you have one, by accessing the default gateway address and doing what they say, they should help you through that

other than that, if you've had bad weather in your area lately your line could have been messed up or router could've misfunctioned. sometimes your isp will provide you with a new one at no cost.

sorry if this is no help at all mate.. i could have possibly just wasted a lot of time, but i hope it does help in the slightest

ah, i see you have Windows Vista

this is probably happening because there is static on one of your phones. if it is only one phone, the best thing is to unplug that particular phone. that is what i did when that happened to me.

Better just power cycle the modem and router. Put them into standby if there is an option then pull the power cord out for 5 minutes, plug the Modem in and then the router.

Rather than just make a new thread Ill just use this one.

Was wondering if anyone had any idea on this issue.

Recently my motherboard & fan was replaced as the original MB shat itself. For awhile before it died the PC became rather noisy all the time & when the MB died I just assumed the noise was because the fan wasnt working as well as it should (causing the MB to overheat & die), now when I got the PC back it still is very noisy, kinda makes a buzzing sound that is sometimes really noisy & other time just a slight hum. Its usually at its loudest when booting up & after a while quiets down but then it can get noisy again. Now I very rarely use the PC for anything than downloading as I use my laptop most of the time & I dont play games on the PC anymore.

Going on my crappy description, do any of you have an idea on what could be making the noise or should I just take it back to the shop & ask about the noise as I would of thought if it was an issue my PC shop would of told me it needed fixing in some way besides the new MB.

sounds like another dodgy fan - nothing else makes a noise like that unless your video card has an onboard fan as well and is seizing up

Have a look at your power supply. The bearings in the fans on that can go too. Which could fry your power supply or overload your circuitry.
