I'm getting quite a bit tired of coming to this site, thinking I'll have a nice sit down and a read of some interesting comments that I can speak my opinion on, and getting boggled down with SPAM! I go through a thread, see a worthwhile post that interests me, but the countless posts of nothingness that follow it make me attempting to continue that conversation pointless! Because everyone is off on their spam crusade. It's driving me a tad loopy and so I have brought this thread to fruition, before I do go and eat someone...

SO! I call on you all to educate others on the terror that is SPAM!

I do believe that there are a lot of people here that just don't get what spam is. Please, specify in your own words the definitions of what SPAM is. How does it effect you, the way you read threads, the way you look at these spammers and their posts?

Please, describe in a straight forward and direct manner so as not to confuse!

We see examples of it everywhere. My point is that I honestly don't think that people understand what it is that they are doing, they don't seem to understand what spam is and why it is bad.

Let me have a go. Spam is anything that is not related to the thread's topic. Do not start talking about your Grandma's Pyjamas in a thread about Wii games, it is pointless, lacking in point, so it is SPAM.
However, I believe there are exceptions to this rule. We are allowed to have a little fun. And if something pops up in a thread that is not entirely relevent, but you know the answer, then answering a question would serve a purpose, your post would have a point.

See? SPAM = Pointless posts.

I agree. But I don't think the admins are going to delete every bit of spam on the site, if how things are now is anything to go by, I believe they don't have that much power. If people can say why it is that SPAM is bad, and what it is, I'm hoping the people that are oblivious to their actions will SEE WHAT THEY ARE DOING!

Anyway. As admins we don't want to delete every drop of spam. As an Admin teaching others i don't tell them how to admin, but simply how to structure their decisions. If people are having fun, why delete it? If it's Christmas Eve and people are a bit spamm-y, i will leave them.

It's the skill of knowing when enough is enough, and with different admins and different opinions things can sometimes get mixed around.

New rules will be published soon. Follow them or leave
