Wii Hardware \ Wii Console Version 2

Nintendo has a track record of updating their hardware well within it's shelf life. Within 2 years of releasing Gameboy Advance(2001) came Gameboy Advance SP(2003), then Gameboy Micro(2005). The DS Lite(early 2006) was release a little over a year after the first DS(late 2004). All of them basically had the same specifications apart from minor updates such as the screen and casing.

So now with the Wii on it's second year, will Nintendo follow tradition and tease us with a new Wii version 2.0 very soon?

If there is going to be a Wii Version 2, what do you think it would called? Wii2? Wii Advance? Poo Poo? Wii Wee?

I had a chance to buy the panasonic Q years ago, and i regret not purchasing it back then. now it's worth hundreds of dollars, if you can find one.

That rule only applies for handhelds. You wont see a Wii 2 for a few more years.

I doubt that. Why would they do that when really, as much as people say they will stick with DVD's for a few more years, you'd go with Blu-Ray.

I also doubt there would be a Wii as in the same as DS/DSLite, GBA/GBA SP etc. Maybe a few more colours and limited edition ones though

Nintendo tried to attempt this with the GameCube, which was released September 2001. A multimedia version of the Gamecube, called the Panasonic Q was released a few months later. As we all know, both failed to bring in the big bucks that Nintendo hoped.

The Wii has surpassed all sales expectations, and this could be the opportunity Nintendo is looking for to release a version 2, because it would still sell bazillions (heck, it'll probably sell more because those who already have a Wii would probably want the new version).



The real point of this thread is, if there was a Wii Version 2, what do you think it would be named as?

A nice will be given to to the most imaginative name.
