Super Smash Bros. Brawl - 9/10
Ever since the Nintendo Wii's launch night the public have been craving to experience another addition to the Super Smash Bros. Series. And after many years of battle in it out on Melee, Nintendo has brought to us their newest addition to the series, Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The build-up of hype was enormous and a lot was expected from Nintendo to deliver a masterpiece, that will be remembered. Comforting us is a star line-up of characters. Characters who have been their from the very beginning and new comers, ready to make a statement in Smash Bros history. Could Nintendo stun the world, and create and game that will be remembered in the ages?
The Super Smash Bros. series gameplay circled and based around on thing, fighting. The simplistic gameplay is easy to pick up for a first time user. The game works simple, if you keep playing and playing you will obtain many different skills and tactics that will help you in many challenges and obstacles you may have to overcome. The controlling of the star line up of characters is smooth and better then ever, with a more fluent control scheme in hand. Though the storyline might not the be games strongest point, the reckless and constant gameplay will much keep you satisfied for a long and enjoyable time.
Brawl features a number of different modes and game options. Starting from the original Classic Mode to the all new aspect in the Subspace Emissary. Classic Mode, as the name suggests has the standard knock-out-next-round rules applied. You must progress and defeat a certain number of characters and obstacles. Though your opponents may may harder then you think, as there could be just a standard one-on-one battle to a two-on-two, versing giant characters or even a multiple numbers of the same character. As you progress through these you will eventually find yourself versing the Master Hand at the finish line, who is arguably one of the hardest opponents in the game to defeat.
Now this is when you find yourself in a brand new adventure in the Subspace Emissary. Where your team of characters journey all around the world, defeating their greatest enemies. This offers are more different style of gameplay, as it is a walk-and-brawl type of fighting. The users should find this new style of gameplay a new very enjoyable part of this game.
There as also many other sub events located in the game. The stadium allows the user to take place in smaller events, such as "break the targets", "home run contest" and "multi man melee". The "break the targets" event is a timed mini game, which the user must break all the targets located around the area in the quickest time possible. In the "home run contest", you need to try and weaken the sandbag as much as possible and then hit it with the baseball bat. The aim is to try to hit the Sandbag as far as possible. In "multi man melee", you need to brawl with a multiple amount of characters at once, with weaker health.
One of the most intense and professional add-on to the Smash Bros. experience is the online play. In this gameplay, you are able to versus a variety of different players from all over the globe. You are able to add a people to your friends code list, this allows you to be able to join that persons game and create mini tournaments with other people on your friend list. When you are online you are able to brawl in a team or as an individual.
The lasting appeal for Brawl is almost never ending, with hours or single player events and achievements, endless enjoyable multiplayer action and intense online play. Super Smash Bros Brawl is one of those titles that will still be being played as the years roll by and more and more titles are released. The Smash Bros. series has this spark in their games, something that gives it a a eternity of life, that will never die or leave you.
Nintendo's Super Smash Bro.s Brawl has almost obtained the total package. Its appealing and long lasting gameplay and its sharp and improved graphics, you can truly see Nintendo poured their heart and soul into making this masterpiece what it is. As a famous director would leave their mark on a award winning film, Nintendo has done the same to Brawl. You don't just play brawl, you feel it, it sucks you in and demands your attention. Super Smash Bros. Brawl is possibly one of Nintendo's greatest achievements of all time.
