Innovation or Frustration? - 7/10
Now I know some of you may be thinking, "Why only a 7?" I'll answer by stating that any lower and I'd be getting hate mail.
The Wii is a next generation gameplay system, which you should know by now. But it's greatness is limited by the games. I believe the Wii has more potential than it shows at this moment, but for the time being, most of it's games are useless and utter waste of money on both the producers and consumers sides.
But enough about the Wii, this is the wiimote's area.
Look at it shine...
The wiimote can be fun at times but then other times it just feels like you're wasting your arm's energy to do basically nothing. I believe the Wiimote could've been far better than it is, had Nintendo waited longer than they did. But as we know, fanboys and girls will be who they are and pressure companies to bid their will.
Now so far I've been quite negative towards the wiimote. So I've been a little unfair, sue me, the facts still remain...
The wii shows very little potential in it's third party games, and these games are the reflection of the wiimote's uselessness.
There are games where you will have a great deal of fun exploiting the controls of the wiimote. Some to name are Mario Kart, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Paper Mario, and LoZ:TP. What's this? All of those games, they're all from Nintendo.
To be fair, there was only one half-decent, half-assed almost, game that was a third party. That being said Red Steel was not good, just not bad.
Well there's no reason I need to keep repeating myself I'll just stop myself before my rant becomes a broken record of a tireless lecture.
In all the wiimote is OK. Until I see a truly outstanding game that can take my breathe away like a good ole' fashion two-handed controller can (FFVII, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, MGS1, and recently MGS4, Beyond Good and Evil, Bioshock, The Orange Box, and I could go on aaaaaaaaaaall day) I will only see the wiimote as an annoyance to games.
