Your Wrist May Say Stop - 9/10
The game was great when I first played it on the internet a long time ago. Now with it's better graphics and a slightly harder difficulty, the game will keep you entertained for a good while.
My opinion on all Wii ware games thus far, including this one, is that you play it for a while and you'll probably never play it again. If you do it'll be for much shorter durations.
The added multiplayer feature not only helped relieve some of the pain in my right arm, but also gave a new experience of working together to get through the massive hordes of little stick figures.
Ok I'll cut the ranting and cut straight to the review.
Defend Your Castle
Basic Concept- Defend you castle from the onslaught of the Stick Figure Clan while simultaneously using them for your own army.
Graphics- Ok for the Wii
Not sure why you'd be playing a wii ware game (or the wii at all for that matter) if you're worried about graphics. But for the Wii's standards, this game does pretty well in that category. The cloth and artistic looking features of the game make it seem like you're playing some poor effort at a child's art project where all the little men come to life and try to take down his creation. Were that the truth however I would prefer a hammer to what seems to be the twist tie I use to keep my bread fresh in it's bag.
Sound- Funny at first, then you tune it out
The sound of the game is neither bad nor good. In the beginning you notice the sounds of the background and the noise the little men make as they plummet to the green lawn and soil your yard with body parts. But as the game progresses you begin to pay less and less attention to it because of the increasing difficulty. Really if you're looking into a Wii Ware game because of the sound, you might as well just buy a CD Player because you're not going to get much.
The Gameplay- What's more fun than killing people? really, I mean come on?
The game itself is very addicting, even when your arm begins to burn and it shouts for you to cease all further activities you'll still want to continue. Multiplayer adds a another experience as you can have up to 4 people. Of course when you have that many and the ultimate goal is to become "The King" who controls all of the upgrades and such, which in other words means you can just relax your arm while everyone else suffers, everyone begins to fight each other on who's going kill who.
Humor- If thrown correctly, sometimes it can result in a serious case of laughter
I added this part to the review for the simple fact of my disappointment. The toned down violence due to the "Nintendo Friendly" image that they so proudly try to hold up makes this game feel a little lacking. Now I say this because one, I am a male gamer who in fact enjoys to watch little men fall to their death and the insides of the come rushing out as their bodies are crushed by gravity, but that's just me. Now this is a more kid-appropriate game than the internet version though if a parent doesn't care to let their child throw tiny men up in the air to watch them suffer a painful death which is made known by the scream, I don't see why blood would make it an y worse.
Overall 9/10
If you're looking for a way to spend your Wii points and you already have Legend of Zelda: OoC, then by all means buy the game, it's a great way to have fun with friends when everyone's bored of what hour you spent on all the other Wii games you have.
