Mario Kart Wii - 9/10
Mario Kart Wii is a fast-paced, action-packed racing game, featuring some of your favorite Nintendo characters including Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, DK and Bowser. The game has pretty much the same concept of other racing games:
Get to the finish line first!! Race through over 30 overwhelmingly awesome levels, and battle your way through your opponents using an arsenal of cute, yet deadly weapons, guaranteed to put a smile on your face when your target has been hit!
GAMEPLAY 8/10
The gameplay in Mario Kart Wii, although daunting at first, is actually quite easy to pick up! I found that some contoller schemes were better than others: Wii-Remote and Nunchuk over Wii Wheel. Sometimes the contols can be a bit fiddly if you're doing 10 things at once. But I guess that's for you to decide. Multiplayer is also great, with a balance of racing and battling, which are both very entertaining. Overall, the gameplay has a user-friendly interface, easy to pick-up controlls and overall satisfaction!
GRAPHICS 9/10
The graphics, like every other game in the series, has been able to keep the awesome original touch that the Mario Kart games have always had to Mario Kart Wii's graphics, while still being able to touch it up to todays standards, which I think is an amazing achievement! The only problem I find with the graphics is that they probably could have put a "tiny" bit more texture into some of the characters and karts, but overall, the graphics are mind-blowing, beuatiful and still keep the classic look to the game, which without, the game probably wouldn't be as popular.
SOUND 10/10
I seriously cannot find one single thing wrong with the sound! Maybe they could have used sound a bit more in the game, like being able to use your horn when you don't have a weapon equipped, but really there is nothing to complain about!
REPLAY VALUE 9/10
Well, it all really depends on whether or not you have Wi-Fi connection and more than 1 controller for multiplayer. If you are without either, then you probably are going to get sick of this game once you unlock just about everything. But if you have either Wi-Fi or more than 1 controller (or both, like me!) then you will definately NOT get sick of this game for quite some time, unless you really hate racing games. Wi-Fi is a
MUST if you wish to get as much enjoyment out of the game as you possible can!
WI-FI COMPATIBILITY 9/10
Let's just put it this way: Without the Wi-Fi compatibility, this game will have probably sold less than 3/4 of what it did. The Wi-Fi is definately one of the best features in the game! Although, it is a bit glitchy at times. For example, I tried to do a Grand Prix with 11 other MyWii members, and we all added each other, but then when I opened my room, some people couldn't get in. Then some people got kicked out and other people could get in! About 1/2 an hour later we FINALLY started! Then, after the first match, 8 people were somehow kicked out of the race!!!
It may have just been my Wi-Fi, but it could happen to you. But even though it has its downsides, Wi-Fi is an absolute
MUST if you own this game!
OVERALL 9/10
Overall, this game is a MUST GET!!! It's very entertaining, enjoyable and fast-paced; Everything racing game should be!
Final Say: If you don't get this game, then you can't call yourself a Nintendo Fan; Period. =D
