Need for Speed - Pro Street - 8/10

Need for Speed Pro Street is the newest edition to the Need for Speed series from black box. Black box decided they wanted to take the game off the street and onto a closed-off circuit track and thats what Pro Street is all about.

The Story of Pro Street is pretty basic. You are Ryan Cooper and have recently began to compete "at the highest level of street racing" on legal racing tracks. You go from tournament to showdowns to get to the top and become the Street King. Through this you will unlock different cars, install parts, tune your car and of course race your car in the 4 different types of races, grip, drag, drift and speed challenge.



The Graphics of this game are quite ordinary and sometimes annoying when the framerate becomes jumpy. The car animation before the race is quite poor but once in the race and flying at 150km/h+ you don't really take note of the graphics. Throughout the whole game the graphics are decent.



The Gameplay of Pro Street is amazing. From the smoke that comes from the tires to the realistic drifting to the customizable body parts, there is just too much to name. The game continues to blow me away. One word to describe the gameplay of this game is WOW.

Another big plus for this game was its Sound. The game has a huge variety of sounds for lots of different cars and there is nothing more you want in a car game than a engine reving its heart out in the early gears. Let me tell you this game can sure do a great job at that. The sound really brings this game to life.
