You make a very good good point. I s'pose then it simply comes down to how desperately one might need a new computer. If I could get the cash for a mac in the new-computer timeframe I probably would. Specally when you bring the virus factor into the fray... and oh god.. VISTA.. Do. Not. Want!

Honestly I love the look of Vista. It was far enough but not too far away from Xp. But they just couldnt get it over the line. Comparing all the versions of Windows, XP is still the best but give Vista time and Im sure the bugs will iron out. XP was similar at the start!

Yeh you did confuse me, editing each others posts between my reads. The Zune is actually very good, its a solid wel worked MP3 player. Much better than the ipod, by a long shot. Its biggest draw back is its size. Its a brick in my pocket.

As for Vista. If you try to run it on an old machine you have to expect there wont be any drivers. It works flawlessly on 2 out of 3 machines (both XP native and one 4 years old with only memory upgraded) and the only reason the last one has XP anymore is because my wifes work IT dept is to lazy to learn vista.

My vista machines have not missed a beat. My XP on the other hand im glad to see the back of.

For your money, you should get at least a different interface when you go up versions, instead of the same interface with added little bits (Like Tiger's widget screen).

Having a better looking is hardly leading the way, having a better OS is not leading the way either. Having 85% market share is leading the way.

The numbers speak the truth. M$ smashes apple out of the water, it might not be better looking or performing but it appeals to the masses.

Haha. Annirowe is a tech person. He's just a try hard Just joking.

I don't know. The GUI just annoys me. I bought one of those older iMac's (350mhz version). Yes, it's nice. I've sat for many hours trying to figure out how to use the Mac OS X interface. I've found multitasking to be really annoything. I tend to have a toolbar full of applications and folders open. Trying to do this with Apple's GUI is quite confusing using the objectdock tool bar!
