Unless you have a Wavebird, like I have. I use both.

I wondered that myself. I love the design of the cube controllers but I don't have a Wavebird so it was annoying having to use the cord, too messy and rather inconvenient considering I had to drag my Wii onto the floor to play. So I grilled someone about the classic controller (thanks Guyver!) and I went and got one.

They're great, and cheap, and wireless!..well, apart from the wire attaching them to the Wiimote, but that's no worries. The only thing that's a bit annoying is that the left analogue stick is just a tiny bit too far down for comfort, but you get used to it pretty quickly. The design is perfect, fits into your hand very nicely.

And when you download VC games it says 'may have been optimised for use with the classic controller' (or something like that). I've been wondering about that, how do they mean? Has anyone picked up on anything that may suggest a game has been optimized...?

So yeah, I think it's worth it.

It costs more for the mods than it does to get a classic controller... plus the GC controller is really only good for GC games, the button layout is not good for most VC games.

I'm like that too. As soon as I see them cheap, i'm buying them.

I already have 3, 2 normal wavebirds and 1 platinum one imported from America.

It is DEFINATLY worth it. The classic controller is MUCH better for SNES games and certain N64 games. I found the GC controller (Wavebird FTW) is the best for N64 games, but with F-Zero X, which require precision turning with true analog sensitivity, the analogue stick on the Classic controller works better than the GC controller for some reason.
