these brands would all serve the purpose - Toshiba, SanDisk, Kingston, Legend, Panasonic, etc.

and all off these you can get off the internet too.

I use the MicroSD card that I use with my DS, but I put it through the SanDisk "convertor".

I highly recommend SanDisk or Kingston.

Generally speaking, they're all pretty much the same. Sometimes the brand makes a difference (as it does with DS Homebrew), but most of the time an SD card is an SD card.

Most of my SD cards are Sandisk and one A-Data, I can't tell the difference between them performance wise, so I guess any will do really.

Officeworks have some cheap 2gb Sandisk SD cards for just under $50. The same brand on ebay are around $30 (i think shipped from Hong Kong - some aussie ones as well).

I was lucky to have it already since my digital camera uses them, perfect for the photo channel(Wii) and my laptop as well.

I've found Sandisk are cheap and very reliable. That's the only brand I have and I'm using SD(Wii, Digital Camera), Micro SD(DS), Mini SD(Nokia N73) and Memory Stick Pro Duo(PSP).

Pyro says:

hey i recomend Transcend
did a little research...
comparison = Trascend vs SanDisk
Transcend won!
Faster speeds
larger space (formatted at 1.9gig for a 2gig card, sandisk was 1.82 gig or so)
cheap...micro SD 2gig with SD adapter is $50 at optus world....

just my 2 cents

That's going to be a problem with the Wii. The new 4gb SD cards are SDHC (SD High Capacity), which only newer digital cameras allow. I don't know if Nintendo can update their software to accomodate it since it's all hardware related.

Sandisk Micro SD - Office Works - $43.90

Micro and Mini SD are slower than the standard SD and they are generally more expensive

Just get a 512mb they are real cheap and you really don't need 1gb for your save files do you?,that's double the wiis memory lol

phatbass82 says:

I think it depends on what you're downloading. N64 games are quite big (anywhere from 4mb and 64mb, maybe even 128mb in size). I think the bigger the better. Plus the prices I've quoted above makes it even more incentive to go bigger. Plus you never know what else Nintendo could offer that might require a bigger SD card for the Wii...

desi says:

I disagree with you all. Sandisk cards have very odd file handling — just try to run certain programs on a DS Flash Cart with a Sandisk card. The SD cards they sell in Tandy and Dick Smith are in fact rebranded AData cards. It's extortionate at retail, but you can get them cheap from eBay.

I used a Sandisk card, and regretted it immediately. AData all the way.

phatbass82 says:

I've had no problems with Sandisk and my DS. Granted, I don't run that many programs (Mainly Moonshell) and I still haven't had any bones to pick with Sandisk. I guess it could be bad experience that you guys have had.

Kingston.
Assuming you don't know who they are; they make uber RAM.

Transcend are good.
Sandisk are overpriced, and IMHO not that great.

Ugh.
Memory Stick = Sony =/= Wii.
