Hi Everyone

Can someboby/everybody help me NOW "please"?
issue:

I'm trying to use my pc but i can't even get to the account-login part.
Like, i turn on my pc and straight away nothing is responding.

It does that countdown thingo so that it will either "start windows normally", or "use last configuration that worked" etc etc, but after the countdown it just remains on that screen... a bar loads up, but then the loaded bar stays there and, yes, it remains on that screen.

During the countdown, NO keys work... like i said, nothing responds.

However, when i turn the pc on, and all that booting-up text appears, if i press the "DEL" key, then i can go into the computer setup (i assume), where you can do time&date, virus things, fan thingys etc ect... but i don't wanna touch none of that because i don't know what i'm doing lol... but THERE, the keyboard works normally but when i press "ESC" and return to that part, everything just stops responding and i can't get passed that screen.

Help me PLEASE PLEASE guys because you guys are SUPER COOL SUPER AWESOME and know EVERYTHING

Will my pc go back to it's normal self or will i have to live with that safe-mode lol?

And is there ANYTHING you don't know? (apart from n00b-ness LMAO)

EDIT- I tried the "F8" thingy but nothing happened.

Like nothing responds so i don't think the keyboard knows what i'm pressing...

Like on the screen where it does that freezing-like thing, i see "safe mode", "safe mode with networking" etc. But i can't select anything because nothing responds.
Like, where should i begin to hold down F8, and for how long?

Try F10, i had a pc once that used F10 not F8, but like you said it could be that your keyboard for some reason is not responding...

do you have a windows startup disc, if you get into your settings where you said with all the bios etc you can change the settings to run straight for the cd not from the C drive...

good luck... damn computers i hate em...

you mentioned that if you press DEL you can go into the setup.... so to me that means you should be able to use your keyboard in someway..

have you tried turning off your pc and reboot again, what does that do?

Lol you can say that again.

I don't have no CD that does that, but is there anything else maybe?

I'll go do that F10 thingy now kk.

Yeah, like i tried plugging out the power socket and trying again... i've tried taking out the power socket from the tower-end and trying again... i've tried switching of that power switch at the back of the tower and trying again...
But nothing changed... still stops responding at that countdown spot.

When i push the shut down button on front of the tower, nothing happens... it doesn't pick-up me pressing it (like keyboard)...
but when i push the restart button on fron of the tower, it responds and restarts.... but goes up to that countdown point and stays there.

Disc drive responds but that's about it.
Only things that rexpond is cd/disk drives and restart button on tower.

can you get into your computer onto the desktop in safe mode atleast. if so you can create a boot disc onto a floppy if you have a floppy drive and floppy disc...

if so go to 'my computer" then go to 'format' and the 3rd option down the bottom is create an ms-dos startup disc, this will now create one for you.. then reset your pc and go into your settings you mentioned with all your time and date etc...... you can change your boot settings to run from floppy instead of the C drive.....

its kinda hard without looking at your computer personally, could be something basic or some settings you have changed that you didnt know you did....

let me how your going

EDIT:

also how are you typing here, are you on your wii or something?

boot up safe mode and then go to start, all programs, accessories and then system tools then click on System Restore and follow the step. Hope it works.

system restore is pointless in my opinion, all its does is back up your registry files, it doesnt back up your pc in anyway as people may think, most problems you have with your pc specially some problems in your registry if using restore it will save the problems that you had and in more cases it creates more trouble,

CheeryDog, no i do not have a another keyboard, thanks though

zrodfects thanks for the compliment (i'm using the wii-mote)... i thank that shooting game on wiiware for my speed and accuracy at aiming at the letters on the on-screen keyboard lol

Anyways, i tried that F8 and F10 thingy but nothing happened... HOWEVER, with the "F10" only, when i went on that bios setting with the time&date thingy that i was on about, when i pressed and held "F10", a message came up saying "do i want to save to CMOD" (CMOD or something... C"something" LMAO).

Is that the safe mode? Or should i leave it?
s14N-m4R13
Kudos: 342
Mates: 2
It asks "save to CMOS and exit?" LOL that's what the message was when i held down F10 in that bios setting.
Bios= basic input output system? (see! i'm a LITTLE smart lol)

So once i somehow get my pc on safe mode, then i'll be able to do what you guys are telling me?... which will get my pc back to itsel?
zrodfects

CMOS is like a mini ram thats ran by the pc's battery which kinda works together, it acts as a mini HDD thats saves while your computer is off to store the info it needs to boot up when you turn on your pc, dont save anything because you havent changed anything The function of CMOS RAM is to store information your computer needs when it boots up, such as hard disk types, keyboard and display type, chip set, and even the time and date. If the battery that powers your CMOS RAM dies, all this information is lost, and your PC will boot with the default information that shipped with the motherboard

so tell me what happened like how did you get into this mess befor it happened what was the last thing you did before this

haha yeah smarty you bios stands for = Basic Input Output System or Basic Integrated Operating System.. or in your case Bloody Insane Operating System

LOL bios= bloody insane operating system

Like, i have a big-ish family so i don't know what the person done to make this happen... i know i didn't do anything!

Like, so the important thing to do is to get my pc on safe mode, so that i'd be able to do something that'd get my pc back to itself again?

Again, thank you ALL for your help!!!!

Sorry i left, i was late for an appointment

Like i said, its a little bit hard that i cant actually see your computer to see for myself what its doing, and what options i have in front of me, are you able to start in safe mode, not being able to use the keyboard im guessing not, so its sort of hard at my end to know what im dealing with again not being able to see it, if you dont have keyboard issues then would be easier, thats why i asked exactly what happened but i guess we will never know lol

so hows the safe mode going?

The most IMPORTANT part that i forgot to mention, is on the screen where it freezes-ish (the countdown screen to pick safemode etc), the writing at the top reads: "We apologize for the inconvenience, but Windows did not start successfully. A recent hardware or software change might have caused this."

So is this any help to you guys to identify this problem. (is this a bootiing-up problem? or a login into Windows problem?)

EDIT- YAY!.. zrodfects is back did you recieve my PM?

Like, i told you everything that happens:
Turns on, gets to the countdown screen and doesn't past that screen, moment i turn on pc the keyboard and on-button on tower doesn't respond, if i press "DEL" when it says so (before the freeze screen) then i can go on bios setting and keyboard works fine then, restart button ALWAYS works.... and i tried restarting, power-off ect but still the same.

If anything specific to tell you, let me know ok hunz

oh, another important thing i noticed:

even while the pc is off, the scroll lock, caps lock and num lock lights are on and keyboard is making a continuous quiet sound... even though the pc is off!
And the keyboard doesn't respond even when the pc is off.

What gets me is that the power button works when turning ON but not when turning off.

Nobody has ever experienced, heard or seen this problem?.. or anything similar?
