but when i do i would get round 30 fps but i want around 60fps

also in xp i get 60fps and about 5mins into the game it drops to 10-30 fps which is a wierd prob and making me want to change to vista so i dont know

That's the point of Vista. 7 will be much closer to vista, and vista it's it's warm up, it shot at a goal and now it knows the problem to fix.

That's cause they're still working under the hood. Ususally the UI is the LAST thing to develop.

I suggest you get more ram.
Had 1gb before on Vista.
I admit it was slow.
So got another 1gb.
Now fast as ever.
Especially with Core2Duo.
