Yeah, you can get Windows to run during at the same time as running Mac via virtualization, although you do sacrifice performance greatly. Another option is Apple Boot Camp, which allows you to boot into the preferred OS at start up, thus with better performance. And on getting iWork on a windows box, the only way i can think of in installing a hacked version of Mac to work with non-Apple signed parts, and running it that way..

Mac osx doesn't compare with windows imo. If you do choose to get a macbook I recommend installing windows on it, otherwise you'd have abit of trouble playing most games on it. If you do choose to stick with mac osx, you can download(buy) a program called 'crossover' which allows you to install window games on a mac, but even then most games aren't even compatible which leaves you frustrated and plus sometimes performance is an issue too.

If your getting the macbook to work/study and not play games, a generic windows laptop would be the cheaper solution.
