When I first looked at consoles (Xbox, PS2, and Gamecube), I had considered the Gamecube, but I was always told that it's more suited to kids. I succumbed and got an Xbox.
When I eventually got a Wii last December, and played my first ever Mario game, I initally thought that it is for kids only. The reason was playing hide-and-seek with rabbits. I mentioned that in another forum place, and got a huge backlash.
Sure, majority of games released on the Xbox and PS consoles are 'M' or 'MA' rated, but there are some that are not. Examples are Viva Pinata, PGR, Forza, Rockstar's Table Tennis, and the upcoming Little Big Planet.
Now, I am glad I got a Wii and enjoying playing titles other than FPSs. Boom Blox, Okami, the Mario games. These look kiddish, but when people do play them, they are not and can be enjoyed by people of all ages.
