I think that most of Einstein's theories are wrong, although I am basing this on simple logic so chances are i'm wrong. I'm pretty sure that there are things that travel faster than light, there is evidence of that, as the matter that supposedly travels faster than the speed of light goes right through Earth due to it's small size. The reason they know this thing exists is that particles in Earth move as they pass through Earth. Also, gaining mass as you travel faster doesn't seem possible, as that would mean other mass would be combining with you, then separating from you as you slow down, which to me, makes no sense. If what I said is actually true (I have no idea), this means that it is possible to travel faster than light, you just wouldn't be able to see anything where the light is travelling in the same direction as you.

well light doesnt have mass does it? so therefore it doesnt need energy to go cos it is energy itself and that means it can go as fast as it wants
did that make sense?

Sounds resonable, but I'm pretty sure that light is made of something, which means is does have mass. ihave no idea though, it is a transverse wave, so it may not have mass.

No, i'm just a huge skeptic. I admit that I am most likely wrong in most of this, but using my logic, most of Einstein's theories make no sense to me. Although with the particles moving faster than light, that's from a documentary on Discovery a few weeks ago. I remeber what the thing is called now, Sub-Atomic Particles.

Mass = True, universal 'weight.' The Mass of an object will always remain the same.
Weight= The Mass of an object + the downward force of gravity, or any other force.

Of course you can. If your mass is altered by intake of food, it will change just as it would on earth. The only problem with trying to reach the speed of light in space is that there is no gravity, so you would need something to push/pull you up to the speed of light. Let's say you stop accelerating at 1000ms^-1. You would remain at that speed until another force is acted upon you. That is Newton's Law of Inertia.

so what if im in a space ship and i accelerate a bit then turn the engine off so im traveling at a speed, then i turn the engine on again and accelerate a little more then i go even faster ZOMG then i continue that process and then i will eventually reach the speed of light zomg
and i dont think time would freeze at the speed of light cos surely time is faster than light so yeah i dontn know what im on about
