Mario Kart Wii \ Mario Kart screen Static?

I got Mario Kart the other day, and after the update it performed seem to be getting some slight interference on-screen. its mainly just a few random spots of colour on the main wii screen and during mario kart. does anyone else have this issue or know how to fix it? I don't think its my tv or component cables either. Any input would be appreciated.

you have the Wii artifacts, which means your graphics chip has a problem, probably because it is running hot. if your Wii is under warranty, get it fixed right away.

My thread!!! I have some recent news on this too, i wasn't going to revive it but since someone posted...
It all came good after using my wii on a crt screen. I noticed it had no artifacts. Then when i connected it back to my LCD tv it all came good. no static or anything.
Weird. But beats sending it in to nintendo
