EA claim "e;half a billion"e; have played online

EA have claimed that over half a billion games have been played of EA Sports game online since the 2009 range of sports titles first hit shelves last June. That's quite an amazing number.

2.2 million EA Sports games are played online everyday on average. That's an incredible increase of over 175% over the 2008 line-up.

Madden NFL 09 and FIFA 09 lead all EA Sports 2009 titles, with 2.4 million registered online users each. Four other titles have more than 500,000 registered users.

"The massive migration to online gaming has transformed the video game landscape, and this week's 500 millionth online EA Sports game highlights the radical shift that we've helped pioneer in the industry," said EA Sports boss Peter Moore of the milestone.
