Things I do at work while waiting for a customer.

  • 1. Sign out of the register.
  • 2. Stand there looking around.
  • 3. Clean the conveyor belt.
  • 4. Tidy around the scales and straighten up papers.
  • 5. Look around for any customers.
  • 6. Open cash draw and tidy up cash & coins.
  • 7. Re-clean conveyor belt.
  • 8. Fold plastic bags and put away neatly.
  • 9. Look around for more customers.
  • 10. Get bored and impatient.
  • 11. Clean the checkout again, due to boredom and wanting it to be cleaner.
  • 12. Give up on waiting for a customer and start to socialize with nearest person.

We have coin packets. I was thinking..when I empty it. I could keep a couple in the packet..and then throw it out..then when I take rubbish to the bin..pocket the packet.

I should add Thinks of things to do that he would probably get caught doing

LOL! That's awesome, most of the time, I am on a register that people don't see because of the angle they walk up. So I would be behind one so the customer would go there. Resulting in me just standing there..and doing what has been said on this list.

But yeah, some are so rude. Throw stuff on the check out, I'm thinking I am so going to smash your biscuits in your bag.

..but I never do ofcourse.

Haha I work in a newsagent, so I stand in the doorway between out the back and the store and text people..or when people come in and I don't want to serve them, i conviniently find something that needs cleaning and make someone else serve them....

I use to do this at Coles, man I hated it.

If customers were being arses I would either pack their green bags REALLY heavily so they couldn't carry it, but had to drag it around.

Otherwise you poke tiny holes in the bottom of their plastic bags so all their groceries fall out the bottom.
