Lazy Motion Swinging Could Injure Your Arm
According to an article in the New York Times people 'cheating' in Wii games by using small waggling motions could be risking their health. The article interviewed doctors about about stress injuries caused by the Wii, and it looks like those who don't us the full (intended) swinging motion may not be in the clear when it comes to Wii related injuries.
The article points out that problems can occur when players discover that a full swing is not required in most games. In Wii Sports Tennis for example, a simple flick of the wrist will suffice, a complete forehand motion is not necessary. According to doctors, the concentration on the forearm in this movement is what causes tennis elbow.
It looks like all us cool kids who figured out we don't have to look like the idiots swinging wildly, as portrayed in Nintendo's lifesytle advertising, may be doing more damage to ourselves than we thought.
