Honestly I highly doubt that the Wii console could handle splitscreen of this game anyway. The Conduit is so highly demanding in all aspects and it is getting the maximum possible ability out of the Wii.
So I don't think it could have been possible due to the Wii hardware limitations to begin with.
To all those people that say you are not purchasing this game now don't be so shallow. It isn't the end of the world. Every other aspect in this game will be incredible including its online. Whether you like it or not gaming is moving to the online world. You are going to have to get used to it.
Not surprised LAN isn't supported I mean how would the Wii make that possible. It doesn't have an ethernet port so I guess you would have had to use an adaptor or something.
To all you split-screen whiners live with it. Many games these days no longer support it as the industry is moving to the online sector as I said above. You would have to be pretty stupid to not purchase this game because one certain feature isn't available. I know it may be disappointing but this game is extremely ambitious and it deserves your money as it is trying to restore the hardcore Nintendo community.
