EA Games recently announced the release of a Wii version of the highly popular Spore franchise. SporeHero, an all-new adventure game focusing on creativity and evolution that was built from the ground up for the unique controls for Wii™. Spore Hero takes players on an exciting adventure through a beautiful, colorful world. For those unfamiliar with the game, Spore allows players to become God by designing life forms with the objective of taking over the world. Players start as microscopic life forms and evolved into land creatures that build civilisations and journeys into space. Creatures can be made to have wierd body parts such as scales, fins, wings, claws, extra appendages and eyes and can be attached anywhere on the body. A brainchild of game legend Will Wright, maker of the world's top-selling computer game "The Sims," "Spore" has attracted legions of players since its release by Electronic Arts-owned Maxis studio in September 2008. In the words of Maxis general manager Lucy Bradshaw, "This year we're going to experiment with new experiences that extend the powerful creativity tools of 'Spore' to all-new audiences. With the universe as our backdrop, the only limit in the Spore universe is your own imagination." Additional releases in 2009 include Spore Hero Arena for Nintendo DS™, SporeCreature Keeper for the PC aimed at younger players and Spore Galactic Adventures, an expansion pack for the original PC game. Let's just hope that the newest additions to the Spore series are able to live up to their promises. Image credit: www.popsci.com.au/
